UN Created 3'000+ Jobs in January

January was a strong month for job postings in the UN System. We found a total of 3'110 jobs posted across 10 UN agencies. All of these positions were available to external applicants.

The United Nations main body was the biggest recruiter, followed by UNDP and UNICEF. We found only 24 jobs for UNHCR despite a growing refugee crisis in recent months.

Jobs posts are roughly evenly split between consultants, professionals and other hires such as locally recruited staff in either the General Service or local consultants.

We are seeing a strong increase in technical IT postings. These tend to be consultancies and support the UN systems modernisation drive.

Budgets are usually set annually so the biggest recruitment drive tends to be at the beginning of the year while funding is still available. For February we are already seeing a decrease in job postings.
